Brayking: Rasmussen shows Musgrove (MS-Sen) leading!
Thu May 29, 2008 at 09:25:29 AM PDT
Real quick, more flesh after conference call is over, Musgrove is leading Wicker 47 to 46 in today's Rasmussen poll.
The first Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the race finds a pure toss-up--former Governor Ronnie Musgrove (D) attracts 47% of the vote while Wicker earns 46%.
Musgove leads by ten points among women but trails by eight among men. The Democratic challenger leads among voters under 50 while the GOP incumbent leads among those who have passed the half-century mark. Musgove is supported by 81% of Democrats, Wicker by 76% of Republicans, and Wicker holds a very modest 44% to 40% lead among the state’s unaffiliated voters.
Both men are viewed favorably by 49% of the state’s voters. Wicker is viewed unfavorably by 32% and Musgrove by 42%.
Good times my friends, good times to be a Democrat.
Brayking: Musgrove ahead of Wicker (MS-Sen)!

Cornyn (Sen-TX) only up 4 points against netroots hero Noriega!
Mon May 05, 2008 at 07:55:38 AM PDT
This is absolutely fantastic news my friends!
It's time to add United States Senator John Cornyn to the list of potentially vulnerable Republican incumbents in Election 2008. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds Cornyn leading Democratic state legislator Rick Noriega by just four percentage points, 47% to 43%.
This ROCKS!
Why I support Barack Obama

Been asked by friends and colleagues (many of whom still support Hillary), exactly why I support Barack. So I penned a response (below the fold).

Bush's former House Seat in play in 2008!
Tue Apr 01, 2008 at 05:16:33 PM PDT
Cross posted over at Swing State
Well this is pretty incredible news. Dubya's dad's old seat in the House has a history of being as reliably Publican as any of them. But the current holder of the seat, John Culberson, reliable crony, is in trouble like never before.
The Dem challenger, businessman Michael Skelly, had an incredible quarter for fundraising,
raising about $750,000 from individual donors without even tapping into his substantial personal wealth. Another Democratic operative said it could be the "best first quarter ever" for any House Democrat in his first filing period.
And the best part about it is that one of the reasons that this seat may just be in play is because of the redistricting plan of the bugman, Tom DeLay.
This could be awesome...

Senate prospects looking good
Mon Feb 11, 2008 at 01:59:01 PM PDT
Today brings us news that former governor Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) is once again trouncing incumbent John Sununu (R-NH and Dubya sycophant extraordinairre) by a solid 17%, 54 to 37. This seat is looking good. (There was an outlier poll a few weeks back by ARG, the most craptastic of pollsters, which showed Sununu with a lead, but as expected, it was indeed an outlier...)
And in other wonderful news over the weekend, looks like Udall (D-NM) is well on his way to pummeling either/both the reprehensible Pearce (R-crazytown) or the self-proclaimed moderate (but clearly not) Heather Wilson by double digits, so much so that CQ Politics has changed the race to Dem Favored, meaning that Udall is now the frontrunner :)
New Mexico counting continues - update and brief analysis
Wed Feb 06, 2008 at 01:51:36 PM PDT
So just checked in to see how the count from the New Mexico caucus from last night was going, and it looks like Hillary has pulled into a 210 vote lead with 98% reporting. Crazy stuff indeed.
An observation for you all in terms of counties and voting patterns on the flip...
Tom Davis (R-VA) not going to seek re-election to the House
Mon Jan 28, 2008 at 09:22:20 AM PDT
Today we get the news from Not Larry Sabato (one of the many progressive blogs out of Virginia), that Tom Davis (R-VA) is going to be #26 House Publican to step down rather than face the rest of eternity in the minority.
A few thoughts about Davis' retirement below the fold.
Who would you vote for in the general
Sat Jan 19, 2008 at 06:17:15 PM PDT
Just trying to get a gauge for how people are thinking now that the race is shaping up and the finalists are getting closer to being finalized.
Real quick poll just to see what people are thinking on this. I am a New Yorker, so my experience with Bloomberg is somewhat more extensive than those of you who live outside of NYC and New York State.
On the flip is the poll.
Brayking: Leahy (D-VT) to endorse Barack!
Thu Jan 17, 2008 at 07:50:33 AM PDT
Woohoo! One of my favorite senators, liberal champion from Vermont, Patrick Leahy is going to endorse Senator Obama today!
From TPM:
The Obama campaign has been touting a mystery "major endorsement," to be announced on a conference call today.
I've just learned from a source familiar with the decision that it's Senator Patrick Leahy.
That's a big endorsement for Obama -- he's a major liberal standard bearer who's been in the Senate for over three decades.
This Sunday's lineup with the MSM talking heads
Fri Jan 04, 2008 at 12:32:42 PM PDT
After what happened in Iowa, you would assume that Timmeh and the rest would love to have them a piece of the wonderful display of Democracy that happened last evening wouldnt you?
Well, your assumption would be dead wrong. Check out this Sunday's lineup after the fold.
Oh, and if you thought that coming in 4th place was a bigtime win, then you must be a member of the (dying) traditional media. McCain is all over the place...
BIG news regarding NH Romney/Mormon push polls
Thu Jan 03, 2008 at 01:30:47 PM PDT
Quick diary, then back to work. Today the New Hampshire Attorney General, Kelly A. Ayotte, held a press conference from New Hampshire to discuss the anonymous push polls a few weeks back. The substance of the push polls was basically that Romney was a crazy Mormon, and that Mormons are crazy. And did you know that Romney was a Mormon and that Mormons were crazy?
Here's the fun thing. The NH AG has named the push polling outfit, and it's Moore Information.
More after the jump.
Edwards camp: Yearly Kos the root cause of Hillary's collapse
Fri Dec 14, 2007 at 10:33:26 AM PDT
In today's WaPo, we find a semi-decent analysis of the recent missteps by the Hillary campaign.
The Article focuses primarily on that
fateful moment in Philadelphia in late October
you know, the one where she jumped back and forth on her feelings about Spitzer's illegal immigrant driver's license imbroglio.
In my humble opinion however, that is not the interesting part of the article. Jump with me to the other side of the fold if you would be so kind...
Today's Washington Post reveals the Truth
Thu Dec 06, 2007 at 06:18:06 AM PDT
Anyone seen today's WaPo? It contains 4 OpEds. All 4 are by hardcore rightwingers.
The writers of the OpEds are as follows:
- former Dubya speechwriter and overall toad, Michael Gerson
- insanest of the insane neocon freak warmongers, the man who hasnt been correct on anything he has written or said since his middle school spelling tests, John Bolton
- traitor and Rove bestest buddy since their college days when they used to step on small amphibians together, Robert Novak
- father of conservatism, global warming denier, and again overall whackjob, George Will
below the fold we'll chat about the OpEds themselves, and what the hell WaPo is thinking...
